The 5th Athens Flying Week (AFW) is about to “take off” on September 17 at the Tanagra Air Force Base on the outskirts of Athens. The show promises to keep aviation lovers, young and old, and spotters on the edge with dozens of aircraft and jets in sensational stunts and much more.
Besides the popular shows by expert flyers defying gravity with their formations and precision flying, choreographed aerobatic and high altitude performance maneuvers, the two-day aviation event boasts more than 200,000 spectators from Greece and abroad, 25 hours of flying action, some 64 airshow aircrafts and helicopters from 12 different countries, over 53 exhibitors and traders, a wide variety of show-ground attractions and airplane displays as well as dozens of B2B meetings. Meanwhile, the 5th AFW Aviation Conference will take place at the Grande Bretagne Hotel on Tuesday, September 13.
Exhibitions, a trade show, model aircraft displays, DJ sets, a specially designed playground for kids and other happenings will be running on the sidelines of the show and during the week.
The 5th AFW is co-organized by the Region of Central Greece under the auspices of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA Hellas), Hellenic Association of Professional Congress Organizers (HAPCO) and the Greek Tourism Confederation (SETE).
Tickets at 5 euros for kids (three to 12 years old) and 10 euros for adults.
