Between July and August, many Athenians head to the beach to escape the big heat and the crowds of tourists that hit the city during summer.
September means lighter crowds, lower hotel and aitickets prices, quicker service everywhere from tavernas to bars and museums, while the weather is still great! A little cooler, but the magic of the Greek Light/sunshine is everywhere! Not to mention Athens beaches that are considerably less crowded especially during weekdays.
Also, the city is vibrant, full of summer festivals that are still on. For instance, the famous Athens and Epidaurus summer festival lasts this year, until the beginnings of October like many other festivals and events in town, while the magic summer aura is still in the city and Athens is in a positive mood!
Don’t think about it, Athens is waiting!
